Teeth Whitening Wauwatosa, WI
Whitening your teeth is one of the easiest and most noticeable changes that you can make to improve the appearance of your smile. Whitening is a non-invasive, simple dental treatment that will alter the color of the surface of your tooth enamel to make your smile look whiter and brighter.
For many people, dull or stained teeth are the primary concerns that they have about their smile. At-home whitening systems are the most popular method for correcting this problem. However, if you have older fillings, crowns, and other restorations, you need to be aware that whitening systems will only work to improve the appearance of the natural tooth enamel, so you won't notice any changes on those existing restorations. It is recommended that you have those restorations replaced after whitening your teeth so they match the new and improved color of the rest of your smile.
We offer over the counter as well as prescription strength at-home whitening options. In addition, we have our in-office Jump Start program.
The Jump Start program is a system using high concentrations of whitening agents designed to maximize results, and minimize sensitivity. This system offers a significant boost to your whitening results before even starting an at-home program.
Reasons to Whiten Your Teeth
There are numerous reasons why you might choose to whiten your teeth:
The Teeth Whitening Process
If you choose to whiten your teeth with an at-home whitening system, or with our Jump Start program, you will need two appointments. At your first visit, we take molds of your teeth to create customized trays to hold the whitening solution. At the second appointment we make sure the custom trays fit properly, do the Jump Start whitening, and give you complete instructions to achieve optimal results.
Caring for Your Whitened Teeth
When whitening your teeth, you may experience sensitivity. If this happens, please call our office. It is important to remember that teeth whitening isn't a permanent procedure. Over time you may notice your teeth staining again. This varies from person to person, but is most commonly seen in smokers, and people who drink coffee, tea and colas. If this is a concern, touch up products are available in our office.
